Srinagar, June 06 (KNO): Coming to rescue of Kashmiris stranded in Dubai, a few Kashmiris working there have arranged two charter flights to evacuate their fellows including those facing medical emergencies to the Valley.
Details gathered by news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reveal that at least five to six persons who are from Kashmir have decided to evacuate their fellows to the Valley. “We have started a process in this regard and at least 650 Kashmiris have been registered within 24 hours for evacuation,” a Kashmiri youth, who is one of among the members who have started evacuation process.
“The number of registrations in a day is ample proof that how much desperate Kashmiris are to reach Valley,” he said, adding that two charter flights have been booked from a company namely fly-Dubai and they are pushing to book third flight so that all the Kashmiris stranded here reach Valley in one go.
“Approval has been received. But, a few formalities like landing and other things is pending and we are hopeful that it will be done soon,” he said, wishing anonymity.
He further informed KNO that a group titled “HOPE” has been created for the Kashmiris in Dubai where those desiring to return Valley are being shared details from time to time about the process being done to evacuate them.
“We are still collecting their details. The process of registration will be stopped at 9:30 PM as per IST. We are trying to evacuate them within two or three days,” he informed.
He added that the decision to book the flights was taken after the government delayed the process of evacuation of Kashmiris from Dubai, adding that only over 150 Kashmiris were so far evacuated by the government in one flight. “This delay has prompted us to take a decision to book charter flights to evacuate the rest of Kashmiris stuck in Dubai,” he said–(KNO)
